“At that time Michael will arise – the great Prince, defender of Your people. That will be a time of great distress, unparalleled since nations first came into existence. When that time comes, Your own people will be spared – all those whose names are found written in the Book” (Dn 12:1).

“Then I saw an angel come down from Heaven, with the key of the Abyss in his hand and an enormous chain. He overpowered the Dragon, that primeval serpent which is the Devil and Satan, and chained him up for a thousand years. He hurled him into the Abyss and shut the entrance and sealed it over him, to make sure he would not lead the nations astray again until the thousand years had passed” (Rv 20:1-3).

“Michael is the breath of the Redeemer’s Spirit who will, at the end of the world, combat and destroy the Antichrist, as he did Lucifer in the beginning” (St Thomas Aquinas). “Devotion to St Michael and the holy angels is a mark of predestination” (St Alphonsus Liguori). Archangel Michael is the angel of Righteousness.

This website is dedicated to St Michael the Archangel, my beloved friend. According to the Greek Fathers, Archangel Michael is the Prince of the Seraphim: the first of the nine angelic orders and the Defender of the Faith. The Mozarabic Breviary establishes Michael’s place in Heaven as being above that of the twenty-four elders, whereas in the Greek Liturgy he is called the Archistrategos – the Arch-General or Generalissimo. Michael is one of the seven angels who serves in front of the throne of God the Father. The main feast day of Archangel Michael in the Roman Catholic Church is September 29th, whereas in the Orthodox Church it is November 8th (Synaxis).
