Michael is the Archangel-Leader of the beginning and the end. He is also the Archangel of the Passovers. Originally, he defended God the Father, earning part of His Name for his own, after the battle with Lucifer arose in the heavens (Rv 12:7-9). Michael also led the Children of Israel safely out of Egypt, during the Exodus (Ex 23:20-22): “Behold, I send an angel before thee, to keep thee by the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Take heed of him, and hearken unto his voice; be not rebellious against him; for he will not pardon your transgression; for My name is in him. But if thou shalt indeed hearken unto his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries” (The Tanakh, Yahwist Source). Meanwhile, Archangel Michael was also assigned by God the Father to minister to Jesus Christ during His lifetime on earth.
Regarding our present times, it is reported in Scripture that, “At that time Michael will arise – the great Prince, defender of Your people. That will be a time of great distress, unparalleled since nations first came into existence. When that time comes, Your own people will be spared – all those whose names are found written in the Book” (Dn 12:1). Additionally, “Then I saw an angel come down from Heaven, with the key of the Abyss in his hand and an enormous chain. He overpowered the Dragon, that primeval serpent which is the Devil and Satan, and chained him up for a thousand years. He hurled him into the Abyss and shut the entrance and sealed it over him, to make sure he would not lead the nations astray again until the thousand years had passed” (Rv 20:1-3). Therefore, Archangel Michael is the Archangel who brings the People of God to safety, as he is the Archangel of the beginning and the end.
